The Right Orthodontist Makes All the Difference

Doctors Griffin & Errera begin meeting with our youngest patients years before they ever need braces. We are committed to the wellbeing of each patient based on their individual growth. That means beginning treatment at just the right moment - not when it's convenient for the doctor, but when it's best for you. This is an important part of the Griffin & Errera difference.

We use state-of-the-art equipment that you won't see in most orthodontic offices to map each patient's teeth, mouth, and jaws. In most cases, we are able to avoid messy impressions. The digital mapping enables us to build molds and specific appliances that are perfectly suited to every patient. You won't wait weeks for your appliance because we create these special and unique orthodontic devices on-site in our Warrenton Office. That allows us to quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively deliver the treatment you need.

Here are a few of the appliances most commonly used for Griffin & Errera clients:

The Bite Plate Appliance is a retainer-type appliance that fits closely to the top of your mouth. It is made of acrylic and metal. It can be used before or during braces to open the bite and separate the back teeth, promoting their eruption. In order for it to be effective, the bite plate appliance must be worn 24/7 unless instructed by the doctor. The bite plate is removable.

Orthodontic brackets, also called Braces, are bonded directly to teeth with special orthodontic adhesive, or attached to a metal band that surrounds your tooth like a ring on your finger. We rarely use bands, and if we do, they are only on the molar teeth in order to assist in the attachment of certain appliances. Orthodontic arch wires insert into the brackets and produce a gentle force to start moving your teeth into proper alignment.

A Palatal Appliance fits in the roof of the mouth and is made of acrylic and metal. The doctor will adjust small springs that rest on the inside of your upper front teeth. To work properly, this appliance must be worn as directed and it is removable. Colors and design options can be customized.
